Jo's mom update XI

Great news. Jo's mom was transferred to the rehab ward 74. She's able to take solid food, apparently she has been secretly having late night supper of kuay teow soup brought to her by my bro and sis-in-law. She's also speaking more words and she's working really hard at physio. In fact, when she moves home on Sunday, she will not need a special bed nor a wheelchair!! She will just be using the special 4 legged stand-crutch thing (i dono what to call it).

I think God has given us another miracle. :0)

Update: 28Jan Sunday - She's now home and resting. Things are looking good. She'll still be going for physio in SGH for the next few months.

Btw, if everything goes according to plan, we are heading back to Paris 24th Feb.

Wes

Update: We have a confirmed flight on 26th Feb back to Paris. Got friends asking why we are delaying it till end Feb when we were supposed to go end Jan. Jo and I feel that it would be better for us to delay coz her mom is not back home, so we gotz no peace coz things haven't settled down yet.

Jo's mom update X

Jo's mom is in really good spirits. She's able to move her right hand slightly (it was kinda frozen before) so that a huge improvement. She will not need to undergo more surgery as mentioned before but she will need to do scan in the next 6 weeks to see how the progress goes.

Another thing, it's highly likely we have to stay till the end of feb. will be making the decision this sunday. pray and ask God how, very xiong coz we can't stay together at the moment.

Another thing, I am selling off my Mac Powerbook 1.5Ghz (1.5GB RAM, 80GB hdd, DVD-ROM, etc) $1999 with 40gb external hardrive and a cup of free expresso from starbucks. it's still under warranty!! so if there's anybody who's interested pls let me knowz ok?

Jo's mom update IX.1

Just a mini update about Jo's mom. Currently, her spirits are up, she can utter some sounds and she's eating a bit more. Think she had coffee a few days ago! :-)

She will have to stay in SGH for the next 3 weeks+ for intensive rehab, very xiong. After that she'll have to go for day rehab for a couple of months. We are confirmed leaving for Paris on 26th Jan, not staying for CNY. Likely, we have to pop back to Singapore in May. And I might a small project back here at that time.

Wes

PS: here's something that Jo sent out a few days ago:

"One night, while chilling out at 1plus am with my siblings (the only time of the day when we are not running around like mad monkeys!), they were recounting to me how everything was so "ordained" for mom. You see, she started to bleed on a Sunday morning when everyone at home was around. Normally on a regular day, it would just have been her and the 2 nephews (age 1 and 3) at home. So she was rushed to the hospital by everyone at home that morning. And later, they were told there are only 4 neurosurgeons in Singapore who can do this operation. And they only shuttle between 2 hospitals, SGH and TTSH. Thank God we live near SGH! And one of them, the one who operated on my mom, happened to be on call that morning at SGH! Even he told us later that one of the reasons my mom could have survived with 3 bleeds when some people die from just 1 is also coz she was attended to and operated on quickly. Praise God for all of this!"

Jo's mom update IX

The doctors have removed the feeding tube from Jo's mom! It's great coz she is beginning to swallow liquids on her own. She's able to move her right leg a bit also!

The maid is coming in Thursday and Jo has been pretty busy. Jo and her cousin cleared out the spare room and painted it for the maid. Just now about 7pm-ish, Jo and I went Carl's Jr at PS (her 1st time. kekeke), then went shopping for new curtains for the room then went to chill at TCC coz Fast Food Nation didn't run the evening.

I'm doing ok. Been running around meeting folks and trying to get some work before heading back to Paris. Also getting English versions of erm... important software that's x2 price in France and comes only in French.

Jo's mom update VIII

Hey all,

Jo's mom is still in the ICA. The situation is still roughly the same. Jo and I went down to see her yesterday. She looks a lot better and her spirits are up. She's still not able to move right side of her body and she has trouble swallowing so the physiotherapist is helping her exercise daily. Thanks for praying guys. :-)
